Research
Associated with the chair is a laboratory for assistive technology (Rehabilitation Technology Lab). The lab provides an infrastructure for development of electronics.
The chair also co-operates closely in research with
Forschungsinstitut Technologie und Behinderung (FTB)
.
The test center of FTB provides efficient structures for practice oriented evaluation and test of technical products for daily living. In the demonstration and test flat and the experiment hall different technical aids can be tested and evaluated in a concrete living environment.
International contacts are maintained with many research institutions in Europe and beyond. In this context the programmes of the European Union in the area of information technology, eAccessibility and eInclusion need special attention. New research lines are developed continuously on this base.
The current research focus is constituted in the areas Barrier free Information Technology and Assistive Technologies.
